ROUS -
An interior for J.
The project concerns the interior design of a residential renovation in which the architectural envelope was already defined prior to our involvement. This condition allowed the commission to focus entirely on the interior as a spatial and scenographic system, independent of the exterior structure.
The organisation of the interior is structured around a sequence of spaces that can shift between openness and enclosure. Sliding doors play a central role in this arrangement, enabling spaces to expand, contract, or be temporarily isolated according to use. Designed for a single occupant, the dwelling remains largely open in daily life, while offering a high degree of adaptability when accommodating guests.
Material and colour choices were developed in close dialogue with the client. Her precise and well-considered sensibility allowed for a restrained yet expressive palette, applied consistently throughout the interior.
