KAPELI - An apartment building
The main challenge in developing this design was to create a compelling spatial volume within the constraints of current building regulations, without compromising spatial quality or living comfort.

The project’s programme consists of two residential units: one duplex apartment and one studio.   Through a careful stacking of the apartments, each unit benefits from ample daylight and open views. The folded façade introduces volumetric articulation into the existing streetscape while simultaneously providing shelter for the bicycle entrance to the basement.

The material palette was deliberately kept restrained: a single material is used across the entire façade to reinforce the building’s volumetric clarity and to offer a sense of calm within the busy context of a typical Belgian street.
